General |
: |
Bitumen heater and distributor used in road construction for DBST, SBST, Tack and Prime Coat purpose. In this equipment bitumen is heated in heater (boiler) and pumped to distribute the bitumen on the road by multi-nozzle spray bar. Single nozzle spray system has been incorporated in the system and can be used for hand spraying. Three wheeled Trolley with Toeing system on Pneumatic Tyres, with suitable toeing arrangement for Pick-up/Tractor toeing. At the time of toeing the front wheel should be opened. And after toeing to the work place it should be re-fixed before spraying to keep sprayer in horizontal position. Bitumen Heater and Distributor consist of two units, Heater and Distributor. These two units are integrated in same frame structure to have bitumen heating and distributing on the road.

Melting Tank |
: |
Main body of the bitumen heater is made with 3/16 " reinforced MS Sheet. The tank is covered with 16 BSW MS Sheet. Between the cover and main body asbestos sheet and compacted glass wool to prevent the heat loss of the bitumen tank. For internal heating a 6” dia pipe of ¼ " thick is used which start at the backside and take one turn inside the bitumen tank. With a 6 " x5 " reducer this burning pipe take the turn upside and then the flue gas pipe is inserted to the upper chamber for quick melting of drum. Burner has a nozzle and directional valve and air blower pipeline with a valve to adjust air flow for proper burning of fuel. Airflow can be controlled from the blower and there is a vane pump (2kg/cm 2 ) to supply the fuel from the fuel tank to the burner. Fuel flow to burner can be controlled with a ½ " ball valve. When bitumen temperature rises to 160 0 C fuel flow should be cut off by the valve to stop the burning.

3.Internal Burning System(Bitumen
Heating up to 160 deg) |
: |
After pouring the melted bitumen from the bitumen drum to inside the bitumen tank its need to maintain constant temperature of spraying. For internal burning a 6 " dia pipe of ¼ " thick is used which start at the backside and take one turn inside the bitumen tank. With a 6 " x5 " reducer this burning pipe take the turn upside and then to top for flue gas exit. Burner has a nozzle and directional valve and air blower pipeline with a valve to adjust air flow for proper burning of diesel. Airflow can be controlled from the blower and there is a vane pump (2kg/cm 2 ) to supply the diesel from the diesel tank to the burner. Diesel flow to burner can be controlled with a ½ " ball valve. When bitumen temperature rises to 160 0 C diesel flow should be cutoff by the valve to stop the burning. Agitator for the bitumen is manually operated to distribute heat uniformly.

Chassis |
: |
Chassis is made of 4 " x2 " x2 " MS channel with leaf spring. Wheel assembled is single axle (21/2 " x21/2 " ) MS bar with two numbers of pneumatic tyre wheels (6.00-16) with mudguard. The front wheel (4.00-8) is provided for resting. There is a pulling pipe of 1 " dia is placed in the front of the sprayer. A handle is fixed with the front wheel for maneuvering it manually at working time.

5.Bitumen Drum
Loading System |
: |
Two Bitumen drums are loaded on the top by drum lifting hoist, which is installed, at the rear side of the Bitumen Heater and Distributor. These drums are fixed in an inclined position for removing the bitumen from the drum easily in to the tank. After loading the drum it is closed by the cover in both sides.

6.
Engine |
: |
Air-cooled diesel engine of 12HP is a horizontal type single cylinder, four strokes, water evaporative cooling engine with simple installation, smooth running and easy maintenance.
|
7.Multi Nozzle Spray System Arrangement |
: |
In Multi-nozzle spray system there are 12/18 pcs of brass nozzles for the uniform bitumen spray. The spray length can be varied from 1.82 meter (6 feet) to 2.75 (9 feet) meter. Each nozzle is mounted with a 3/8" ball valve individually. All the valves handle is connected to a 2" flat bar operated by single handle for opening and closing the valves at a time. All the nozzles are fixed with the 2"x2" MS Box called the bitumen header.
|
8. Single Nozzle Spray System Arrangment |
: |
In Single-nozzle arrangement, hose pipe is used for spraying bitumen by hand. A 3/8 " ball valve is mounted on the opening position of the single nozzle spraying system. When this single nozzle is not in used a bone plug is used to prevent the accidental flashing oh hot bitumen.
