General |
: |
The
AS15 series Penetrometer has which simply its use and help
eliminate mechanical and reading errors in determining the
penetration of semi-soil and sold bituminous materials.
The
Penetrometer consists of the head assembly. 4-1/2"
(115mm)-diameter dial test indicator, calibrated in 0.1mm
with zero reset, a large, cast aluminum base assembly
plunger, weights and a ASTM style penetration needle.
The
Penetrometer Controller consists of a control box with
timer start and power controls. An Electro-magnetic head
assembly mounted on the frame allows the plunger to free-fail
during the selected time period.
When
the start switch is pressed the plunger is released for
the test time and then re-locket automatically.
